TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Gde Pradnyana, spokesman of the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (BP Migas), supports the government’s plan to include the gas lifting process as one of the items in the macro assumptions of the state budget.

“We have been proposing the inclusion of gas lifting item in the state budget for a long time,” said Gde, contacted on Thursday.

The state budget’s macro assumptions so far have only included oil lifting processes. On the other hand, state revenues are calculated by combining gas and oil productions. Therefore, according to Gde, including a gas lifting item in the equation will not affect state revenues.

“There is only the psychological impact in terms of achieving a higher target,” said Gde. Gde added that in total, the target of oil and gas per day has been set at 2.4 million barrels equal to oil per day. On the other hand, the actual oil lifting target is only 900,000 barrels per day based on current realization.
