The Directorate General of Taxation has established two new
offices dedicated to handling the tax obligations of mining, oil and gas
companies.
Director general Fuad Rahmany said on Monday that the
establishment of the two offices was important to ensure that mining,
oil and gas companies paid their dues.
Fuad said that for
decades, Indonesia, as one of the members of the Organization of the
Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), had been unable to fully verify
its potential tax income from the mining, oil and gas sectors.
